Explore Ladakh with Turtuk & Sham Valley

Ladakh isn’t just a place—it’s an experience. A land of towering Himalayan peaks, crystal-clear lakes, ancient monasteries, and high-altitude deserts, where every turn feels like stepping into a postcard. And this 7-day Leh Ladakh tour with Turtuk takes you beyond the usual, blending adventure with hidden gems and cultural encounters.
Start in Leh, where monasteries sit atop rugged cliffs, prayer flags flutter in the wind, and the air hums with history. Ride through Khardung La (17,982 ft) into Nubra Valley, where the golden dunes of Hunder meet the icy mountains, and double-humped Bactrian camels roam like time travelers from the Silk Route era.
Then, step into another world—Turtuk, one of India’s northernmost villages, once part of Pakistan. Walk through stone houses and apricot orchards, meet the warm Balti people, and soak in a culture unlike anywhere else in Ladakh.
The adventure peaks at Pangong Lake, where shifting blue waters mirror the vast sky, and the silence is as breathtaking as the view. Return to Leh via Chang La Pass (17,586 ft), wrapping up your journey with last-minute shopping, cafe hopping, or simply letting Ladakh’s magic sink in.
Ladakh is raw, rugged, and unforgettable. And this trip? It’s your front-row seat to its wonders. Ready to answer the call of the mountains?

Frequently Asked & Question

June to September – Best months with clear roads and pleasant weather. October to May – Extreme cold, snowfall, and road closures make it risky for bikers.

7-10 days – Ideal duration for covering Leh, Nubra Valley, and Pangong Lake. 5-6 days – Covers Leh and major highlights but may feel rushed. 10+ days – Allows for Tso Moriri, Hanle, and offbeat locations.

Top choices for Ladakh’s rough terrains: Royal Enfield Himalayan – Perfect for off-road riding. Royal Enfield Classic 500 – Reliable and sturdy. Bajaj Dominar 400 – Comfortable for long-distance rides. KTM Adventure 390 – Lightweight and powerful. Tip: Get your bike serviced before the trip & carry spare parts like clutch cables, tubes, and brake pads.

Yes! Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required for: Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Turtuk & Tso Moriri Where to get it? Apply online at the Leh DC website or get it from the Tourist Office in Leh.

Not ideal for first-time bikers! You’ll ride on steep passes, river crossings, and gravel roads. Off-road experience is recommended before attempting Ladakh’s extreme routes. If you’re a beginner, start with Manali to Leh before taking on Nubra & Pangong.

Ladakh is at high altitude (11,500+ ft), and AMS is common. Acclimatize for at least 2 days in Leh before heading to Nubra or Pangong. Stay hydrated, eat light, and avoid alcohol. Carry Diamox (after doctor’s advice) if prone to AMS. Don’t rush your itinerary. Altitude sickness can hit even the fittest travelers!

Fuel stations are limited! Leh has multiple petrol pumps. Diskit (Nubra Valley) has one fuel station, but it's not always reliable. Carry extra fuel in jerry cans for Pangong & beyond.
